Frisco Pet Hospital will deliver on what matters most to Dr. Moore: compassionate and comprehensive veterinary medicine and surgery. Along with preventative care, the new hospital will also offer general medicine, survey, in-house lab work, x-ray, ultrasound, dentistry. In addition, boarding and grooming services will make the pet hospital a total turnkey service center for your pets.

Meet the Vet

Growing up on a farm in Southwest Louisiana, Dr. Moore was always around animals. Early in his life animals just seemed to be attracted to him. Whether it was taking care of 4-H livestock, riding his horse, or showing dogs in American Kennel Club, he loved working with and being around animals. His family had a herd of Registered Black Angus cattle in which all the family was responsible for their care. However, it was Steven that was the resident caretaker of the animals. He was responsible for the preventive medical care of the herd. He took an artificial semination class and one of his calves won Grand Champion Louisiana Bred Angus Heifer at the annual Louisiana Junior Angus Association heifer show. For Dr. Moore, there was no other career option but to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Moore was so serious about his dream to become a veterinarian, that he completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors from Louisiana State University seven years after graduating high school at the age of 24. After veterinary college, Dr. Moore completed an internship in Large Animal Medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois. For the next three years, Dr. Moore worked in various mixed animal practices in New Mexico and West Texas. It was after four years into his career, that he found his niche. He switched from mixed animal to strictly small animal medicine and surgery and never looked back. It was working at a referral small animal hospital that Dr. Moore discovered his passion…surgery. Dr. Moore continued to hon his skills in internal medicine, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery over the next 5 years.
After his stint in the referral hospital, Dr. Moore decided he needed to make a change to being a relief veterinarian. He offered his relief veterinary services to private small animal and mixed animal hospitals throughout New Mexico and West Texas. Also, during this period, he offered his services to Albuquerque Animal Emergency Clinic.
From 2002 to 2016, Dr. Moore was the owner of both Banfield Pet Hospital of Frisco and Banfield Pet Hospital of McKinney Custer. He has also served as an Advisory Committee member of the Banfield Charter Practice from 2012 to 2016 as the South Region Representative. In 2016 Dr. Moore sold his Charter Banfield hospitals to switch gears again. From 2016 through 2018 Dr. Moore worked in Veterinary Practice sales and acquisitions. Since 2018, Dr. Moore has been providing relief veterinary services to small animal general and emergency veterinary hospitals throughout the DFW area. As a member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and Collin County Veterinary Medical Association, in 2020 Dr. Moore received the prestigious honor to have served as the CCVMA President.

Additionally, Dr. Moore has an extensive history of community involvement, engagement, and service. As a member of First Baptist Church Frisco, Dr. Moore has served the Celebrate Recovery Ministry as a former worship leader and is currently the lead guitarist for the traveling praise and worship team, CRowned. Dr. Moore has been married for 30 + years to his lovely wife. Steven and his wife have two children. When Dr. Moore is not working, he loves spending time with his family and his dogs Luka and Aspen. He also enjoys adventures like traveling, skiing, scuba diving, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, sailing, and performing in his band.

Frisco Pet Hospital will concentrate on total care of each fur baby, focusing on preventative veterinary medicine in a total turnkey service hospital environment. Frisco Pet Hospital will deliver on what matters most to Dr. Moore, compassionate and caring veterinary medicine, and surgery. Along with preventive care, the new hospital will additionally offer general medicine and surgery, in-house lab work, x-ray, ultrasound, and dentistry with dental x-ray. Furthermore, Frisco Pet Hospital will be offering boarding and grooming to provide a total turnkey service center for all pet patients, where your pets are family.
